Unmistakable - Teaching Notes & Small Group Guides
Unmistakable - Teaching Notes & Small Group Guides
If you’ve ever doubted or questioned your own salvation, you will love studying the book of 1 John. John wrote this book for you.
At the time of John’s letter, Christians were persecuted and scattered, living well below the life Christ had for them. They were living in darkness, instead of the light. And, they had questions... big questions about their own salvation. These churches were going through a bit of an identity crisis much like the church today. Some people even brought in false teachings about who Jesus was and how to live the Christian life.
Bring your church through this message series as you study the New Testament book of 1 John and learn together four UNMISTAKABLE truths of the Christian Life.
This Teaching Notes & Small Group Guides pack includes everything you will need to teach this 6-week series at your church, from editable teaching notes to weekly small group discussion guides.

Week 1 – Unmistakable Forgiveness
We have been delivered from the penalty of sin by justification, but we haven’t been delivered from the presence and the relational consequences of sin. That is an on-going process called sanctification. Join us this week as we study UNMISTAKEABLE Forgiveness in the book of 1 John.
Week 2 – Unmistakable Anointing
Throughout the book of 1 John, he says there are two things that are necessary to keep you from deception: A love for the truth of God’s Word, and walking in the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Join us this week as we study UNMISTAKEABLE Anointing in the book of 1 John.
Week 3 – Unmistakable Love
In the original language of the New Testament, Greek, there are multiple words to help clarify this concept of love. There are three primary words for love – phileo, eros, and agape. Agape is the unconditional love of God. Join us this week as we study UNMISTAKEABLE Love in the book of 1 John.
Week 4 – Unmistakable Discernment
As Christians we need to take time in most every circumstance to examine and put to the test the source of information, especially our thoughts and emotions. The Bible calls this ability discernment. It’s when we, by the Spirit of God, distinguish and judge the source of something. Join us this week as we study UNMISTAKEABLE Discernment in the book of 1 John.
